Healthy Coloured Bread

This is actually the Alfalfa Chlorophyll Rye Wheat Bran Bread. The mixing ingredient is just similar to any other bread, just adding up rye flour and wheat brand with some sugar. Since rye flour is gluten free, adding some sugar is crucial to avoid the bread become bitter in taste. I did try to make it sugarless, and it ended up bitter in taste! I believe that the yeast need sugar to do its job, thus, this bread doesn't really rise very well.

Healthy Heart Bread

Edit: I think the recipe might have some laxative effect. The next day I ate the bread, I poop twice. It's not diarrhea the stools looks normal. But I think I still need to state out some warnings here, red yeast rice is a type of Chinese medicine and it was known to be harmful to pregnant woman. So be caution!
Happy holiday! I didn't went to KL after considering many many useless reasons. Burnt my AA flight ticket! LOL. So I spend some nice quiet time at home, reading books, watching documentaries and baking things I like to eat. Here's one nice recipe.

[48 BorHoChiak] Secret Recipe's New Recipe

Hey, I'm back! What I've been done recently? Well, I get to travel to Tokyo, and after that, been busy working and working and working. Yeah! Get myself involve in some blogging contest, and, finally make myself get use to speaking in front of a camera! Great improvement!

So just few days ago, I heard the Secret Recipe 48lansi punya auntie told me that they have new cakes. The chocolate lava ice-cream cake. (She's only lansi, but she's a nice lady). I have had a bad time tasting their new Banana Cheese and the Green Tea Cheese cakes. Since I think their new cakes no longer on par with their old recipe. In fact, I think its too sweet. Too sweet until all the flavour is unrecognizable.

War of Chee Cheong Fun!!! Teluk Intan Style!!!

Chee Cheong Fun is the famous food in Teluk Intan. It is a kind of rice noodle rolled with marinated pork and dried fried shrimps. The uniqueness of Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun, is the outlook of the noodle. The dark brownish marinated pork stuffed inside the rice noodles makes the dish looks unpleasant. However, it taste very good even without any sauces or extra garnish.

Home Sweet Home!

Count down to the day my parents retire! They had promised to retire after 2 years. Now They are still selling Wan Tan Mee at the "Dead Man Street" of Teluk Intan. This place is near Pasar Besar and is the only place in Teluk Intan where you can find all the best food in the town. Here, you can find the famous Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun, best Dim Sum, best soy bean milk... etc. However, you must visit the place before 9am in the morning. The hawkers here mostly are doing business for the purpose of making great food. Thus, If you came too late, great food might all sold out. Especially Dim Sum and the famous Chee Cheong Fun with extra fillings.

Valentine's Bento!!! LOL!

I'm in the mood for sushi recently. It's near Valentine's Day, not to think about what I wish to have as the Vday present, I'm more likely to think about, what will I do for my valentine? I always wanted to make a cute bento, so I've decided to use my free time to plan for an imaginary Vday!

Today our boss SC belanja makan pizza! Actually, I'm not sure she belanja or not because she didn't mention about it. LOL! I'm not a big pizza fan, this special new CNY pizza just taste normal and cheesy. Some people like it, some not. (SC said she didn't like it, while I think it's just normal, yet another piece of fattening food.)

Shopaphobia at Gurney Plaze O_O"

Yesterday, I had a sinful day at Gurney Plaza... Looking for some CNYgifts for friends and family. I get bored with Queensbay, so I decided to visit Gurney Plaza. It was a disappointment for me, Gurney Plaza is a place where only for me to do the window shopping. I do enjoy walking in the Cold Storage! Only at the Cold Storage!

War of Worst Cheese Cake: Starbuck VS Honey Bakery!

2 years ago, I had a very very bad experience with Starbuck's food. Not their beverage, their drinks are great, but their food is horrible! I've boycott Starbuck's food for over 2 years until recently. Some friends giving me some good review on their cheese cakes. It was questionable! I still remember 2 years ago I wrote a comment for Starbuck about "having some great coffee but extremely horrible taste food".

Cuisine: Chinese
What's Best: Wan Tan Mee!

Before Chatime ever open their outlets at Queensbay Penang, my all time favorite Bubble Milk Tea would be Cool Blog (Only for The Kulim Giant outlet!). So what are their differences? For which one is better, there would be no clear statement.

Differences of Vegetarianism

Today, I visited my favorite restaurant, Master Choo again. Although, I'm now keeping a no-meat diet, I still eat eggs and sometimes, some fish. I only eat meat when there is some special occasion such as back to hometown. The dish I ordered today is the stir fry mushroom and black fungus, serve with pumpkin and rice. No meat involved, except the egg tart and the sambal paste do have shrimps on it.

Free and easy rainy day...

Still in holiday and its a rainy day. Not going out and no date to attend. :P

Instant noodles is simple yet the very basic of my life. Back to the old days when I was in college, I ate instant noodles almost everyday. The reason is, partly to save money, another reason is, to save time. While there's various choices of instant noodles in the market nowadays, some even cost more than fresh economical rice with nice dishes per packet!

My all time favourite instant noodle is this Anka Soybean Paste dry instant noodle (vegetarian) by Vi King. Anka is a type of red yeast which is my favorite ingredient (great for ladies, not recommended for pregnant women).

48HoChiak! Bamboo Grove Vegetarian (Kulim)

Bamboo Grove Vegetarian (Kulim)
Location: Taman Selasih, Kulim.
48HoChiak Level: 7/10
Cuisine: Vegetarian/Chinese
What's Best: Moncherry Cafe!
Price Range:RM3++

When it comes to vegetarian food, most of the vegetarian restaurant are Buddhist concept. The best vegetarian dishes I ever ate is actually canteen in Unisem, Ipoh! Yes, the canteen in my previous work place! During the time I work there, I was a full vegetarian! Their food is too good until I totally forgot about meat. Fried seaweed, fried mushrooms, fried fuchuk, saute vege... etc... all simple vegetarian dishes without 'synthetic' meat.

How about Kulim? I think the only place good enough to have a nice vegetarian food would be Bamboo Grove Cafe. They are not the best I ever visited, but definitely better. The environment is not strongly Buddhism, which I do feel comfortable with (I'm Christian) They do use fake meat in their recipe, and have very limited choice. They do not have new menu, over 3 years staying in Kulim, and visiting Bamboo Grove several times, I never really saw any new items added in their menu. Even the "special" dish is no longer special.

48HoChiak! Roaster King Kulim!!! (Roast Master Village)

Roaster King Kulim!!! (Roast Master Village)

48HoChiak Level: 5/10
Cuisine: Chinese
What's Best: Errrr....
Price Range:RM3++

I'm actually on a vegetarian diet recently. LOL, this restaurant just open few weeks ago, selling famous Lunas roast duck! Yeah, the roast duck which has less fatty layer and with tender meat and taste mild, which is just nice!

48KaoSai! DIRTY Century Pines Resort Cameron Highland!

Planning on a travel to Cameron Highland? I have my Christmas Eve ruined in this beautiful trap, the Century Pines Resort! They are rated as 4 stars hotel, with elegant designs and the hidden danger of un-hygienic stay. Let me summarize my terrible experiences.
