War of Chee Cheong Fun!!! Teluk Intan Style!!!

Chee Cheong Fun is the famous food in Teluk Intan. It is a kind of rice noodle rolled with marinated pork and dried fried shrimps. The uniqueness of Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun, is the outlook of the noodle. The dark brownish marinated pork stuffed inside the rice noodles makes the dish looks unpleasant. However, it taste very good even without any sauces or extra garnish.

There are 3 main Chee Cheong Fun hawker in Teluk Intan: Liew Kee, Sam Siew Yeah, and Sheng Kee. While Liew Kee is the lagest supplier, but which one is better? Let's Have a review:

Liew Kee
For 2 rolls of extra stuffing Chee Cheong Fun, Liew Kee sells their noodles in highest price compare to others. However, they had a cheaper version (picture on top), with less stuffing. Liew Kee's Chee Cheong Fun is very oily, thus, if you dislike oily food, better stay away from this. For the taste, the extra stuffing version is the best.

Sam Siew Yeah
Their Chee Cheong Fun is similar to Liew Kee's extra stuffing version, except for the noodles are less oily and the stuffing is heavily marinated, making it the worst looking Chee Cheong Fun by it's outer appearance. However, it taste the best! (according to my taste buds) Less oily, more taste and with the noodle texture just right.

Sheng Kee
I once tried their Chee Cheong Fun before, which is oily, hard and cold. It taste like a normal Chee Cheong Fun and the stuffing is not really that good. Younger people may prefer their Chee Cheong Fun for the more springy noodle texture. They do taste great with some sauce and marinated green chillies. However, the noodles alone, will not able to stand a match with the two above

So... which one is the blogger's choice???? Sam Siew Yeah!!! I personally love the heavily marinated stuffing which brings out the great taste of the Chee Cheong Fun. Less oily would be more preferable!
