Count down to the day my parents retire! They had promised to retire after 2 years. Now They are still selling Wan Tan Mee at the "Dead Man Street" of Teluk Intan. This place is near Pasar Besar and is the only place in Teluk Intan where you can find all the best food in the town. Here, you can find the famous Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun, best Dim Sum, best soy bean milk... etc. However, you must visit the place before 9am in the morning. The hawkers here mostly are doing business for the purpose of making great food. Thus, If you came too late, great food might all sold out. Especially Dim Sum and the famous Chee Cheong Fun with extra fillings.
My parents selling homemade Wan Tan Mee and Yong Tofu. All homemade recipe. Even the Yong Tofu is made by fresh fish, not those fish products bought from major food production factories. They made the recipe to suite the taste buds of local people, mainly older customers who care more about healthy diet. Thus, we do not use lard oil in our recipe for Wan Tan Mee. Instead, we use fried onion oil. Everything is light, fresh and great taste. I grown up eating it everyday as breakfast. LOL. My parents plan to retire, and both of us, my brother and I, will not continue their journey. We both found a better career.
This place should be the major tourists attraction, but most tourists won't choose to dine here. Mainly because good food are sold very fast. The hawkers here open starting from 6am and most of the great food will sold out before 9am. So it's definitely only for the early birds. The leaning tower is just near the area, by walking distance.
