48SamPat! 回到最初 の YOU & ME MUSICAL PARTY [Penang]

The experience of listening to the real celebrity perform on stage, is truly unique. Olivia and Jeff, both are great artists! 回到最初 の YOU & ME MUSICAL PARTY, the event was organized by V Plus Card, which I think the autograph signing session at Gurney is a nice one. However, for the Musical Party at Autocity, Juru... that's an awful one.

The set up stage at Gurney Plaza, it's a lucky day that there was no rain.

The crowds, yes, it's a great one, no rain, nice weather! Normally it'll be awfully hot at 4 to 6pm, the weather is cloudy and windy, which is the best situation, making the afternoon autograph signing session at Gurney to be the best. Yes, everybody is so happy!

Miss Olivia Ong, she is gorgeous and have a great voice.

Who doesn't remember the Prince of Love Songs Jeff Chang? Fans from out of Malaysia actually came all the way to Penang to see his performance. This is my second time hearing him singing live on stage. His voice is great, I like his natural vibrato.

 

 Okay, here goes the bad one. The Juru Autocity Musical Party! Why am I think this is a bad one? Let me summerize:

Ticketing

Fans actually bought the VIP tickets! For the normal tickets, people have to do something to get it. Either you play some online games, or dine at some sponsors restaurant... etc. People work for it to get the free entrance to get nearer to the stage area. However, there is no control on who can go in to that area! It means that it doesn't matter that how much time, money, effort you've spent to the sponsors to get the free normal tickets, a passerby who doesn't even spend any time, money, or effort will still have the access to the same area! Some fans who hold VIP tickets even prefer to sit at the Starbuck nearby! Look, who will want to sit on the VIP plastic chair when there's a nice cozy place at starbuck (which is not one of the sponsors) have the better view on stage? People spent money on the VIP seats, but there are also people who spent non at all, just go and buy a drink from Starbuck and sit there enjoy the nice view on stage. What makes the ticket worth its value is only when Olivia getting down to the stage and interact with people around. 

Opening Ceremony

Is that a joke? Or the DJ's fault? I must say, the DJ shouldn't Introduce this Jimmy's background! I do think it's a silly joke to get some rich girl to sing a  karaoke song on stage and then discuss about it with Olivia. Look, people had been working so hard to be able to get on stage, and this precious daughter of Juru Autocity's owner, having the same opportunity to perform on same stage just at the age of 16 without effort, oh, and with only the voice quality of the karaoke singer... What a big big joke! However, I would blame on the DJ for this, if he never told everybody that this girl is the rich man's daughter, we might appreciate her more. Hey, she's just 16 and have much more to learn. The DJ shouldn't compare her with Olivia, since this Jimmy still need to have some vocal trainings.

The overall experience was just okay! Bringing happiness for all the Penang folks around!
